Kapitola poskytuje základní přehled o historii a hlavních výsledcích Brněnské lon
o procesu vyhledávání bývalých účastníků dětské studie a o charakteristikách sou
percipovanými změnami osobnosti v průběhu životní dráhy a osobnostními před
poklady prožívané smysluplnosti života.
The chapter gives an overview of the main results of the Brno Longitudinal Study
on Lifespan Human Development (N = 83) that was started in 1961. It builds upon
the longitudinal study of children carried out at the Institute of Psychology in Brno,
Czech Republic, in the 1960s and 1970s. The introductory part of the paper
describes the original project, process of searching the participants and the
characteristics of the current sample based on the original cohort. Furthermore,
the results of four studies concerning personality development are presented. The
first study deals with the prediction of adult personality from behaviors observed
in the toddlerhood, the second focuses on longitudinal stability of personality
traits and selfconcept between adolescence and middle adulthood, the third
describes subjective perception of personal change in lifelong perspective, and
the fourth investigates personality predictors of meaningfulness in life.
