We investigated mollusc assemblages, vegetation composition, water chemistry and hydrology in the southern Sweden and southern and central Norway. According to results of the MDS ordination, variation in the mollusc composition was related to the hydrologyof the studied sites, reflecting a transition from soligenous to topogenous fens. All the selected explanatory variables defined mollusc assemblages well.
