A reconstructed wooden cylindrical vessel with bronze gilt appliqués has analogies in ivory pyxides which are often known from Lombard burial grounds. The vessel probably represents a later replica which may have been deposited in a grave near the Mikulčice basilica before the mid-9th century already. The shape of decorative elements and the situation at discovery indicate that the vessel has been used as a Christian reliquary.
