Studie přibližuje (zejména na základě soukromé korespondence) vztah básníka Julia Zeyera k České akademii věd a umění císaře Františka Josefa a jejímu mecenáši a prezidentovi Josefu Hlávkovi. Ačkoli se Julius Zeyer nikdy nestal členem České akademie, odmítal ji a nepřijal od ní ani výroční cenu, přesto se stal jejím mecenášem, protože ve své závěti určil právě Českou akademii dědičkou jeho autorských práv.

The study presents (mainly based on private correspondence) relationship of the poet Julius Zeyer to the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts of Emperor Franz Josef and its patron and President Joseph Hlavka. Although Julius Zeyer never became a member of the Czech Academy he rejected it and did not accept her either annual prize, yet he became its patron, because in his will determine precisely Czech Academy heir of his copyright.
