The bismuth doped titania was prepared by the developed “green” method – thermal hydrolysis of titanium peroxocomplexes. This process excludes organometallic precursors, proceeds in aqueous solution under ambient pressure and mild temperature (up to 100 °C). The photocatalytic behavior was evaluated by the azo dyes (RB5, AO7) decomposition in the two structurally different equipments. Operando FTIR spectroscopy was employed to study the adsorption and photoinduced decomposition (PID) of acetaldehyde. The bismuth doping prooved positive effect on the photocatalytic performance of the azo dyes decomposition and changed adsorption of acetaldehyde resulting possibly in a different photocatalytic degradation pathway.
