    This work brings a new insight into the not yet fully solved problem of stromatacta formation in sedimentary geology. It also contributes to our very limited knowledge about the arching phenomenon in wet granular media with polydisperse highly irregular non-spherical particles with surface roughness, where almost no systematic experiments are available.
