Článek se zabývá přínosem Julia Sachse pro obor dějiny biologie. Ve spisu „Dějiny botaniky“ Sachs pojednává o vývoji botaniky od renesance do 19. století. Toto dílo ukazuje autorovo pojetí vědy i jeho unikátní kulturně-historický rozhled.
The article deals with the contribution of Julius Sachs in the field history of biology. In the work “History of Botany” (Munich 1875) Sachs discusses the development of botany from the Renaissance to the 19th century. This work demonstrates the author's conception of science as well as his unique cultural and historical perspective.
