The conference focused on the questions of intellectual communication between Central and Western Europe, comparison of crucial networks, overlaps, intersections, most important intermediary persons, issues as centre and periphery, and individuals such as J. A. Comenius, Samuel Hartlib, Henry Oldenburg, Johannes Hevelius, Athanasius Kircher, Hugo Blotius and others. A collective volume based on papers from this conference will follow.
