Článek se zaměřuje na zkoumání lidského a nelidského, jehož základem však není antropocentrický předpoklad. Analyzuje myšlenky autorů, podle kterých lidství není pro člověka samozřejmostí, nýbrž stávání se člověkem je možnou součástí životní zkušenosti. Východiskem textu je kniha Judith Butler Giving an Account of Oneself, především její interpretace Adornova pojednání o lidském a nelidském ve spisech Minima Moralia a Principles of Moral Philosophy. Butler z této intepretace vyvozuje, že nelidské není opozitum lidského, ale bytostný prostředek k tomu, abychom se stali lidskými. Další část je věnována srovnání tohoto výkladu s rozbory dvojí morálky, jak ji nabízí Friedrich Nietzsche v Genealogii morálky. A v poslední části je na základě interpretace díla Jeana Améryho naznačeno, že rozvrh, který prezentovali Nietzsche a Butler, lze ještě podrobněji diferencovat na základě jisté překvapující afirmativní politické síly oběti.

The article focuses on investigations of human and inhuman from the non-anthropocentric perspective. It deals with authors who do not take humanity of human being for granted. These authors describe becoming human as a possible dimension of living experience. The analysis starts with Judith Butler's Giving an Account of Oneself and her interpretation of Adorno's mediation on human and nonhuman in Minima Moralia and Principles of Moral Philosophy. Butler concludes in her interpretation that inhuman is not an opposite of human but it's the constitutive means of becoming human. Subsequently the article treats the connection of Butler's interpretation to the double moral offered by Friedrich Nietzsche in Genealogy of Moral. Finally, using the work of Jean Améry, I try to show that Butler's and Nietzsche's projects can become even more subtle, differentiated and uncover in this way somehow surprising affirmative political force of the victim.
