Kapitola se zabývá vazbou mezi volbou užitých biblických citací a persvazivní strategií v prvých dvou dílech Truchlivého. Zřetelný rozdíl mezi selekcí biblických knih v Truchlivém I a II ukazuje, jaký význam může tato metoda mít: zatímco v prvém dílu Truchlivého nalezneme naprosto dominantní chiliastický plán (nejčastěji citovanými autoritami byli starozákonní proroci Izajáš, Ezechiel, Jeremjáš, apokryfní čtvrtý Ezdráš a Job, z Nového zákona Apokalypsa), v druhém díle chiliastický charakter prudce ustoupil a byl nahrazen akcentací nebiblických politických témat. Biblické excerpce nám v tomto případě mohou pomoci vysvětlit i doposud neuspokojivě řešený důvod rychlého vydání dvou verzí dialogu Truchlivý velmi krátce po sobě. Příspěvek přináší nový způsob interpretace užití biblických citací v raném Komenského díle.

The paper deals with the link between the choice of biblical quotations and the persuasive strategies used in the first two parts of The Mournful. The selection of books from the Bible in The Mournful I and II and the distinct difference between the two parts show how important this method can be; while a chiliastic plan is completely dominant in the first part of The Mournful (the most frequently quoted authorities are the Old Testament prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, the apocryphal fourth prophet Ezra, Job and, from the New Testament, the Apocalypse [Revelation]), in the second part the chiliastic nature is abruptly reduced and replaced by an accent on non-biblical political themes. In this case, biblical excerption can help us to explain the hitherto unsatisfactory solutions for the rapid publication of the second version of The Mournful so soon after the first. The article offers a very innovative way of an interpretation of using of biblical quotations in early works by Comenius.
