Using bionanotechnology we have successfully developed a PLGA-ND nanocomposite scaffold for cell growth. The basic physical fibre properties were established using SEM, TEM and AFM. Cytocompatibility and subsequent cell growth was established, paving the way for potential use of the composite PLGA-ND scaffolds in bone tissue engineering and also for bioactivation-specifically, as a drug delivery vehicle for a range of diseases. The future of the use of diamond in bionanotechnology holds out the potential of the development of multi-functional devices that target cells, deliver drugs and image reactions simultaneously
