Normally the plants tissues subjected to nonstructural carbohydrate analyses are stored in Dewar flasks with liquid nitrogen. This cannot be applied in remote areas, such as high mountains, because flasks are very heavy and liquid nitrogen evaporates in a few weeks. We invented a new method, which is much more suitable for field conditions - plant tissues can only be boiled in hot 50% ethanol, using simple equipment. This fully ensures denaturation of enzymes and plants tissues can be easily transported in small test tubes and can be stored for more than a month.
