With the use of our newly developed radiometric enzyme assays for the determination of enzyme activities of iodothyronine deiodinases (IDs) of the types D1, D2 and D3, and adapted radiometric assays for quantification of iodothyronine sulfotransferases (ST) and uridine 5‘-diphospho glucuronyltransferase (UDP-GT), we proved thyrotoxic effects of excessive exogenous bromide and perchlorate ions. Profound changes in enzyme activities were also determined in rats treated with an antidepressant drug fluoxetine (Fluox), especially in case of IDs in their pituitary and cerebellum
