Higher concentrations of micro-sized HA (ie. 20%-25% micro-sized HA) significantly reduced the growth and the viability of MG-63 cells. A concentration range of 5-15 vol% (HA/matrix) of both nano-sized and micro-sized HA particles seems to be the optimum for colonizing the composite with osteoblasts. These composites can potentially be used in medical applications
