Relatively accurate perception of the temperature distribution in the rock mass can be obtained from measurements realized in boreholess drilled directly in mine workings. Due to the character of these measurements it is possible to greatly reduce or completely eliminate the adverse effects of measurements, limiting the correct use of other methods. Surveying of the temperature field of the rock mass at high depths in the years 2011-2013 was performed on the basis of the temperature field measurement found on the Polish method defined in the standard PN-G-04038. This methodology has been successfully applied in the conditions of the Upper Silesian coal basin of Polish part. For measurements, measuring equipment consisting of a temperature sensor is inserted at the bottom of the borehole and measuring device connected to the sensor with an electrical cable. For reliable capture of the temperature by this method, a freshly exposed rock massif should be drilled at a depth of aprox. 2 m. The temperature measuring sensor should be inserted at the bottom of the borehole and get it sealed immediately after drilling.
