There is predominant mining of OKD in the saddle members of Karvina strata in the Karvina Subbasin and the extraction goes deep. The sedimentation of saddle members is linked with the continuous supply of gravels and sands. These streams of gravels and sands have significantly eroded the coal seams partially or completely [1]. Even though an in-depth geological exploration using core boreholes was carried out, it is not possible to explore sufficiently the coal seam eroded by the irregular river’s networks erosion for technical and economic reasons. To eliminate idle times caused by geological anomalies, reduce wear of modern technological equipment and reduce the cost of additional exploratory roadways several seismic surveys were performed. A innovative In-seam seismic method (ISS) developed by the German company DMT was used. The ISS survey results positively affected the economy of OKD mines.
