Výbor ze studií a statí významného literárního historika a komparatisty Karla Krejčího (1904–1979) obsahuje 43 autorových textů z let 1931–1979. Antologii otevírá stať Bohemistika z evropského pohledu. Má setkání s dílem Karla Krejčího z pera komparatistova někdejšího kolegy na pracovištích Československé akademie věd a rovněž oborově spřízněného specialisty Vladimíra Svatoně. V doslovu Hledatel a vykladač evropských souvislostí slovanských literatur se Marcel Černý, sestavitel a editor této knihy, snaží osvětlit koncepci výboru a kritéria výběru zařazených textů. Jako přílohu obsahuje tato publikace až do současnosti dovedenou Bibliografii prací Karla Krejčího se soupisem důležitějších statí o něm. Jmenný ukazatel je pak společným rejstříkem nejen k předkládanému výboru, ale též pro Krejčího fundamentální monografii Česká literatura a kulturní proudy evropské (1975), která vyšla bez této základní orientační pomůcky.

A collection of studies and papers written by the prominent literary historian and comparativist Karel Krejčí (1904–1979) centres around 43 texts of the 1931–1979. This anthology opens with a study entitled “Czech Studies from a European Perspective. My Encounter with the Work of Karel Krejčí” by the comparativist's former colleague at CSAS institutes and specialist Vladimír Svatoň. In the afterword to “The seeker and expositor of European contexts to Slavonic literatures”, Marcel Černý, compiler and editor of this book, attempts to explain the ideas behind the criteria used for the selection of these texts. A supplement to this publication is a bibliography of the works of Krejčí with a list of the most important papers on him. The name classification is thus common not only for the index to this presented selection, but also for Krejčí's key monograph “Czech literature and European cultural trends” (1975), which was unfortunately published without this primary orientation aid.
