This study deals with a round hybrid synthetic jet (HSJ). For comparison purposes, common (zero-net-mass-flux) synthetic jet (SJ) is used. The working fluid is air. Five experimental methods are employed: flow visualization, hot-wire anemometry, velocity measurements by the Pitot tube, impedance measurements, and measurements of the jet momentum using the precision scales. Advantages of HSJs are demonstrated. The tested HSJ achieves higher pumped volume flow rate by 24 % in comparison with SJ, at the maximum volumetric efficiency of 33 %. The overall energy efficiency of the HSJ actuator is 1.8 times higher than one of the SJ actuator
