Endocrine disruptors (EDCs) presented at wastewater pose the real threat to the multicellular organisms. EDCs interact with the hormonal system which leads to the hormonal equilibrium disruption. Unfortunately, conventional methods of water and sewage treatment are not completely effective in removing of the estrogenic substances; therefore the Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) represent the very promising wastewater treatment technologies. These methods are based on the formation of the highly reactive species which can degrade even the most recalcitrant molecules. In this study the EDCs degradation by photocatalytical process in the specially designed pilot plant photo-reactor with immobilized TiO2 was investigated. The real wastewater and the simultaneous water with 17-alpha-ethinyl estradiol and 4-nonylphenol as representative EDCs were tested.
