W centrum zainteresowania artykułu jest życie i dzieło czeskiego historyka Zdeňka Hájka. Szczególna uwaga została poświęcona jego dorobkowi w dziedzinie czeskich badań nad dziejami Polski. Właśnie problematyka historii narodu polskiego i czesko-polskich kontaktów w XIX wieku stała się głównym tematem i nurtem naukowej działalności tego uczonego.

The subject of interest in the study submitted is the life and work of the Brno historian Zdeněk Hájek. Particular attention is dedicated within it to his contributions in the area of Czech historic study of Poland. It was precisely the issue of the Polish nation’s history and Czech-Polish contacts in the 19th century that became the central topics of Hájek’s scholarly endeavors.
