Kniha vysvětluje, proč čeští voliči hlasují pro konkrétní strany. Kniha se zaměřuje na dlouhodobé determinanty volebního chování (konfliktní linie, levo-pravou hodnotovou orientaci a stranickou identifikaci) a na čtyři politické strany s dlouhodobou přítomností v českém parlamentu (ČSSD, KDU-ČSL, KSČM a ODS). Navíc se autoři zaměřují na změny v efektu těchto determinant v čase. To jim umožňuje identifikovat důležité změny ve strukturálních determinantách volebního chování.

This book explains why Czech voters choose specific parties. The focus is on the long-term determinants of electoral behaviour (cleavages, left-right orientation, and party identification) and on four parties with long-term representation in the Czech parliament: ČSSD, KDU-ČSL, KSČM and ODS. Moreover, the authors focused on changes in the determinants of electoral stability over time. This helped them to identify any important variations in the structural determinants of electoral behaviour over time.
