Boron-doped diamond (BDD) is a promising material for various applications in electrochemistry. In this contribution, the technological methods of BDD growth and electrode structuring by reactive ion etching are discussed. Electrochemical measurements on dopamine were done by cyclic and square-wave voltammetry. The results show that the structured electrodes exhibit the limit of detection 3xSD/slope (0.32 mol/l) and sensitivity ten times better than the nonstructured BDD and dependence on the BDD morphology. The prepared BDD electrodes can be used as an effective analytical tool, especially for determining low concentrations of dopamine.
