Nano-structured materials in the form of nano-composite, where the metallic nano-particles (NPs) are distributed in a dielectric matrix, represents new type of material with unique optical properties, which are quite different from those of the particular components. Fluoride materials occupy an original and strategic position in modern optics due to its unique optical and structural properties. In our work we demonstrated successfully fabrication of fluoride thin films with metal NPs by means of combination of two PVD deposition techniques. The silver NPs embedded by LaF3 and LaF3:CaF2 films were fabricated by Pulsed Laser Deposition techniques (Ag NPs) with auxiliary Electron Beam Evaporation (fluoride matrix) at UHV deposition chamber.
