Silicite axes found in the Bell Beaker graves in eastern Bohemia are distinct from those produced by the simultaneous people with Corded Ware, so they could not be obtained by exchange but only by being collected from sites of older Eneolithic settlement or burial grounds. They were probably used as a source of high quality raw material for blades or for making fire.
