By analysis of sectioned hair samples of the world renowned Danish astronomer by RNAA, mercury contents were found approximately 2 months before death only slightly exceeding levels seen in the contemporary occupationally non-exposed populations. About two weeks before death, the mercury contents dropped to the normal value. Even the slightly elevated mercury levels had no toxicological significance and could not cause acute poisoning.
