V článku se diskutuje názor, že slovanský prajazyk se vyvíjel a fungoval jako jazyk typu lingua franca anebo koiné. Autor ukazuje, že na tuto otázku je třeba pohlížet prostřednictvím aktuálních teorií zabývajících se procesy koineizace.
In the paper, the idea of whether the Slavic protolanguage can be viewed as a lingua franca and/or a koine, is briefly summarized and commented. In the author´s opinion, recent models of koineization should be used in further research on this topic.
