The book present summary of research on forest history in the Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland which successfully combined different approaches and data sources including paleoecological research of charcoals, historical forest management data and recent studies on distribution of fires and spreading of invasive tree species. The results were integrated into GIS geodatabase and used for better understanding of long-term forest development and planning of conservation management in national parks.
