Autorka zkoumá zdroje Humova skepticismu v rámci novověké filosofie a v rámci působení pyrrhónské skepse. Vliv pyrrhonismu spatřuje i v tom, že Hume neorientuje svou filosofii výhradně na téma poznání, ale na způsob života, který přináší člověku radost a štěstí.
The author investigates the sources of Hume´s scepticism with regard to both, the early modern philosophy and the influence of Pyrrhonism. This influence can be seen in the fact that Hume does not focus his philosophy predominantly on cognition, but on the way of life that brings people joy and happiness.
