Modern equalization algorithms are based on an extensive use of computer-intensive matrix decompositions (often QR or SVD decomposition). A standard tool used for rapid testing and prototyping of the signal processing algorithms is Matlab with its graphical environment Simulink. This paper describes how the algorithms may be accelerated in this environment, using a toolbox for on-line connection with an add-in board with DEC AXP 21066 processor.
