Článek shrnuje dosavadní znalosti o historii a dynamice horských smrčin na Šumavě. Popisuje význam přirozených narušení zejména v podobě vichřic a gradací lýkožrouta smrkového a význam narušení umělých zejména těžby dřeva.
This paper summarizes current knowledge about history and dynamics of mountain spruce forests in the Šumava region. It explains the importance of natural disturbances, mainly wind-throw and and bark beetle gradation and role of logging activities.
