Studie se zabývá dochovanými katalogy chebské františkánské knihovny, které umožňují sledovat vývoj knižního fondu od počátku 17. století až do 19. století. Z katalogu z roku 1635 je navíc zřejmé, že v té době byla ještě část knih (140 svazků) uložena na čtecích pultech, ke kterým byly připoutané řetězy tzv. libri catenati.

This article deals with the preserved catalogues of the Franciscan library in Cheb enabling to pursue the development of the book holding from the beginning of the 17th to the 19th centuries. Moreover, according to the catalogue from 1635, it is evident that a part of the books (140 volumes) were at that time placed on reading desks to which the so called libri catenati were chained up.
