Of special interest in this contribution is the surfatron generation of uniform ZnO nanoparticles finalized as thin layers with photo-electrochemical functionality. ZnO possesses high photo-catalytic efficiency. ZnO nano-structures were also extensively studied as important wide-bandgap semiconductors.
