Výstava připomíná výrazného Otto Wichterla (1913-1998) - českého chemika, pedagoga, akademika, poslance a prvního polistopadového předsedu Československé akademie věd. Cílem výstavy je přiblížit ve světle pramenů nejen jeho životní osudy, ale i způsoby, jakými Wichterle reagoval na neustále se proměňující pracovní i společenské události. Autoři výstavy čerpali především z bohatého osobního fondu Otty Wichterla, uloženého v Archivu AV ČR.

The exhibition honours Otto Wichterle (1913-1998) - an outstanding Czech chemist, professor, scientist, Member of Parliament, and the first post-communist president of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. Using the historical sources, it aims to present Wichterle's life story, as well as the ways in which he responded to the ever changing working and social situation. The exhibition authors worked mainly with Wichterle's extensive personal fonds, stored at the Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
