Studie pojednává o sbírce fotografií z 19. století, která se zachovala v mobiliárních fondech zámku Lednice na Moravě. Na základě výzkumu dochovaného obrazového materiálu autorka popisuje širší kontext a pravděpodobné okolnosti vzniku sbírky, její účel a historii i záměry jejích budovatelů z rodu Liechtensteinů. Zvláště se zaměřuje na materiál spjatý s historií architektonické fotografie italské, rakouské a zdejší provenience, který je ve sbírce hojně zastoupen. Jedním z klíčových témat je otázka vztahu rozvíjející se památkové péče v polovině 19. století (zde ztělesněné jejími podporovateli z rodu Liechtensteinů) a fotografií jakožto klíčovým nástrojem jejího dalšího rozmachu (zde na příkladu vídeňského fotografa Andrease Grolla).

The essay deals with the collection of 19th-century photographs which has been preserved at the Lednice chatteau. Building primarily on the collection itself, the author describes the broader context and probable circumstances of its origin, its purpose and its history, and also the aims of its creators (the Liechtensteins). It focuses mostly on the history of architectural photography of Italian, Austria or local origin, as one of the strongest section of the present collection as a whole. Finally, it also discusses relationship between the monument preservation effort increasing in the mid-19th century on one hand (here embodied by the Liechtensteins, its supporters) and the photography as a key tool for its progress on the other hand (here exemplified by work of Viennese photographer Andreas Groll).
