The contribution discussed the long-term and current land use changes in the District Hodonín and their influence on the formation and evolution of anthropogenic forms. Exploration particularly used old topographical maps from the years 1836-1841, 1876, 1953-1955, 1991, 2002-2006, and other additional mapping sources, historical and contemporary aerial photos and data from the field survey of the studied territory. The attention of research was paid to the mining relief forms, particularly in the area of South Moravian Lignite District, for example – subsidence depressions in proximity to Dubňany city and also the currently evolving mining forms – e.g. in the area of the former mine in the Mikulčice municipality.
