This contribution focuses on 2-methylpropene hydrogenation to 2-methylpropane catalyzed by Pt/Al2O3 catalyst as a model reaction for development and validation of the methodology for kinetic data evaluation. Reaction is carried out in a continuous microreactor which comprises of high-temperature and high-pressure integrated packed-bed cartridge. The reactor (MCTU 600) has been developed by Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS GmbH for kinetic studies and lab-scale catalyst testing. The reactor is used within the Ehrfeld Modular Microreaction System (MMRS) which allows carrying out reactions at temperatures up to 600°C and pressure up to 100 bars.
