We present a set of ionic liquids providing asymmetric enantioselective hydrogenation, which are readily separable from the reaction mixture due to their hydrophobicity. Moreover, a precious catalytic complex Ru-BINAP can be immobilized by the ionic liquids for recyclation and further reuse.
