Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění zkoumalo v květnovém šetření postoje českých občanů k trestu smrti. Položené otázky se týkaly jednak obecného názoru na to, zda by trest smrti v České republice měl existovat, nebo ne, jednak zjišťovaly, nakolik lidé souhlasí, nebo nesouhlasí, s různými konkrétními výroky o trestu smrti. 62 % dotázaných se domnívá, že trest smrti by v České republice měl existovat.

In its May's survey, the Public Opinion Research Centre examined attitudes of Czech citizens towards the death penalty. On the one hand, questions in the survey concerned the general view, whether the death penalty should exist in the Czech Republic, or not, on the other hand, they probed, in what extent people agree, or disagree, with different particular statements about the death penalty. 62 % of respondents hold the view the death penalty should exist in the Czech Republic.
