Čistírny odpadních vod často nejsou provozovány v optimálním energetickém režimu. Existuje několik variant jak vylepšit stávající energetickou bilanci ČOV. Jedná se hlavně o optimalizaci spotřeby jednotlivých elektrických spotřebičů, změnu technologie, využití tepelné energie pomocí tepelných čerpadel na vytápění objektů, sušení kalů čí technologických procesů nebo zvýšení produkce bioplynu.

Municipal wastewater treatment plants are not operated in the optimal energy regime. There is several possibilities how to enhance current energy balance of the wastewater treatment plants. We need to focus for the electric device consumption optimization, technology change, heat energy utilization by heat pumps for the building heating, sludge drying, technological processes or biogas production increase.
