Antonin Lojek reports in the “Conferences And Reports” column on the scientific life of Prof. Michal Tomášek. On February 20th 2013, Prof. Michal Tomášek, Head of Editorial Board of The Lawyer Quarterly, currently a professor at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague, celebrated together with his family, colleagues and friends his 50th birthday. Michal Tomášek was one of the first Czech lawyers who dealt with Chinese law, as is documented by his postgraduate studies in Beijing. In the nineties he served as a diplomat in the USA, as well as in Europe, namely in Brussels.
