Experiments have been conducted with the aim to compare the two launcher designs. The passive-active antenna exhibits less intensive fast electron generation. By rounding the waveguide septa, the electric field at the launcher mouth can be furthe reduced, and in turn, the fast electron generation is still less intensive.
