Im Beitrag wird die Vielfalt der Funktionen und Bedeutungen des Ausdrucks buď im Alttschechischen unter Berücksichtigung seiner Grammatikalisierung beschrieben. Diese Form wird als verbaler Imperativ beschrieben. Desweiteren gibt es sechs verschiedene Typen an Partikeln, vor allem syntaktisch textstrukturierende, in einem Fall jedoch nur mit pragmatischer und emotionaler Funktion. Schließlich gibt es drei Arten disjunktiver Konjunktionen, die verschiedene Beziehungen zwischen Möglichkeiten bzw. Alternativen ausdrücken. Der Autor vertritt die These, dass sich die Konjunktion buď durch die Verwendung der homonymen Partikel stabilisiert hat.

The contribution deals with various functions and meanings of the word buď in Old Czech regarding the grammaticalization of this word. The usage examples of buď are classified into verbal imperatives, six types of particles, largely with a syntax-structuring function in texts, once with a pragmatical and emotional function only, and three types of disjunctive conjunction expressing various relations between alternatives. The author argues that the conjunction buď originated from the particle by a stabilization process.
