We characterized proteins of seminal plasma and spermatozoa of patient with different spermiograms by electrophoretic methods. Protein profiles of sperm from men with normal and pathological spermiograms were compared. Futher characterization was carried out by detection of glycoproteins and proteolytic activity. Quantitative and qualitative changes in proteins and decreased or increased activity of some enzymes can negative impact sperm fertilizating ability. Protein identification or determination of enzymatic activity in ejaculates might help explain the background of fertilizing failure in men with pathological spermiograms and provide tools its detection.
