The study showed that adult macropterous females of the firebug Pyrrhocoris apterus differ from the brachypterous females in three physiological markers, i.e. by longer pre-oviposition period, shorter post-oviposition period and lower number of egg batches laid during the whole life. However, no significant difference in the longevity of adult macropterous and brachypterous females was found.
