We present a novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor for direct detection of human interferon gamma (hIFN). The biorecognition elements for hIFNare engineered proteins derived from albumin binding domain (ABD). Two methods for the immobilization of ABD are compared: covalent coupling and immobilization via streptavidin–biotin interaction. The developed biosensor provides rapid and sensitive platform for the detection of hIFN at subnanomolar levels both in buffer and diluted human plasma.
