The contribution (a chapter in a monograph) focuses on the issue of foreign investment protection in the Czech Republic. The authors deal with the general legal framework and the position of bilateral and multilateral investment protection treaties in the Czech legal order, general standards of treatment of foreign investments and investors in the Czech Republic, and requirements set by the Czech legal order with respect to foreign investors who intend to carry on business in the Czech Republic. The analysis of the abovementioned issue generally comes to the conclusion that the Czech Republic is an open liberal economic system with a very sophisticated system of foreign investment protection.
