Soustřeďuji se na otázku, jak můžeme definovat kulturu s vážným přihlédnutím k možnosti kulturního dialogu. Odmítám reifikaci jednotlivých /parciálních kultur charakterisovaných určitými hodnotami (např. asijskými či euroatlantickými). Spíše má pro kulturní dialog význam vážný a rovný respekt vůči každé kultrurní situaci, z niž pochází jednotlivec asystematická otevřenost společnosti vůči takovým původním situacím každého. Dialog o lidských právech na globální úrovni není uskutečnitelný bez kantovského ideálu světové občanské společnosti jako společenství ústavních republik.

In this article I consider how we might define the concept of culture where we take seriously the possibility of cultural dialogue. I reject the reificatrion of partial cultures characterised by certain values (e.g. Asian, Euro-Atlantic). More important in cultural dialogue is seriousness and equal respect toward each cultural situation from which individual people emerge, and the systematic openness of society to the acceptance of the original cultural situation of each person. Dialogue about human rights at the global level will not be realizable without the Kantian ideal of world civil society as community of constitutionally states.
