Předneseno na konf.:BIOELECTRICS 2012 – 9th International Bioelectrics Symposium,JP,Kumamoto,O-6,05.09.-08.09.2012, In this work we investigated chemical and biological effects induced in water by the gas phase pulsed corona discharge generated over water surface. The discharge was generated in the gas in close proximity to a liquid surface using a planar high voltage electrode made from reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC). Formations of ROS and RNS produced by the discharge were measured under various conditions and correlated with plasma induced inactivation of E. coli in water performed under the same conditions. The general mechanism of ROS and RNS contribution in bacterial inactivation induced by gas phase discharge plasma in contact with water was proposed.
