Non-thermal electrical discharge plasma in liquids and at gas-liquid interfaces generate a number of chemical and physical processes that can affect both the chemical and biological components in water. In this chapter we provide an overview of the chemistry and reaction kinetics of the main primary and secondary chemical species (OH radicals, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, peroxynitrite) generated by discharge plasma in water and gas-liquid interfaces. We also address the mechanisms of plasma interaction with the chemical compounds in water and the plasma-catalytic processes in liquid and gas-liquid environments.
