The paper deals with the issue of the common nature in the conception of the Baroque Franciscan author Philipp Fabri (1564–1630) presented in his philosophical writing Philosophia naturalis Ioan. Fabri’s exposition of Scotus’s theory is evaluated as displaying the features of ultrarealism. In the second part the author brings in the critique of Fabri's teaching issued by the Baroque Conventual Bartholomew Mastrius (1602–1673).
